Asset Integrity & Process Safety Management
- Description
- Curriculum
Asset integrity refers to the ability of an asset to perform its intended function effectively while safeguarding life and the environment. For assets operating under specific conditions, integrity is achieved when the risk of failure—posing danger to personnel, the environment, or the asset itself—is reduced to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
In today’s oil and gas industry, asset integrity is a critical factor in enhancing productivity across production, refining, and distribution. It has evolved from a technical concern—focused on maintenance, inspection, and engineering assessment—to a strategic corporate management priority. Asset integrity assurance encompasses a series of integrated objectives throughout the asset lifecycle, supported by a robust Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS).
