VCAT-I Vibration Analyst ISO 18436-2 Category I
- Description
- Curriculum
Introduction
The VCAT-I Vibration Analyst course is the foundational step in becoming a certified vibration technician. Designed to meet ISO 18436-2 standards and accredited under ISO/IEC 17024, this program prepares participants to collect high-quality vibration data, perform basic analysis, and validate results. Delivered by DASH Training in collaboration with Mobius Institute, the course uses advanced 3D animations and interactive simulations to simplify complex concepts and ensure a strong grasp of vibration fundamentals.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
-
Understand the principles of vibration and condition monitoring
-
Collect reliable and repeatable vibration data
-
Identify common machine fault conditions such as unbalance, misalignment, looseness, and bearing failures
-
Use vibration sensors correctly and understand mounting techniques
-
Interpret waveforms, spectra, and key analyzer settings (Fmax, resolution, averaging)
-
Set alarm limits and understand failure modes
-
Prepare for and pass the ISO 18436-2 Category I certification exam
